Mr. Michalis Arvanitis and Mr. Kriton Bolkas attended on September 4th the event “Hellenic Excellence Gastronomic Culture” in Beringen, Belgium for the presentation and promotion of high quality Greek products to the Belgian market.

The “Hellenic Excellence Gastronomic Culture” event, which was under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and held in a specially prepared area of the large chain wholesale selling shopsVAN ZON, was attended by the Deputy Minister for Rural Development and Food, Mr. Markos Bolaris, the Greek Ambassador in Belgium, Ms. Freedom Galathianaki, the homogeneous MP Region Brussels Mr. Chris Doulkeridis (Green Party and former Minister of Housing and Tourism in the Land of Brussels in Belgium) and President of the homonymous Group, Mr. Willy Naessens, who has one of the largest Belgian companies in the food sector, whose subsidiary is the VAN ZON chain.

The event was also attended by the heads of the agricultural sector in the Permanent Mission of Greece to the European Union, Ms. Euphrosyne Bousiou, President of the Belgian-Greek Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Vasilis Akritidis, the Paul Peeters, CEO of Naessens food production, Mr. Erik Carmans of Carmans NV company (product distributor), Mr. Marion Van Zon of super markets Van Zon through which the products will be available (at the moment) and many expatriates.

The world awarded ARVANITI cheeses were promoted with other quality products, such as meat of black pig, roe, quality rice and beans, pasta, olive oil, tea Olympus, famous wines and honey. More specifically, the companies that participated in the event and presented their products were as follows:

Belgian consumers had the chance to try and taste the authentic traditional Feta PDO ARVANITI, award winning Manouri PDO and other excellent cheeses, such as Dopio cheese and Plecouda Braid cheese.

The high quality of products was presented extensively and thoroughly by the Belgian organizers and Mr. Luc Carmans, President of the great Flemish manufacturing and marketing company, NV Carmans E. & L. who were completely satisfied with the Greek flavors.

In his address, Mr. Bolaris said that this event of Greek and Belgian entrepreneurs and their cooperation is exemplary, worthy to be emulated in other sectors, stressing that this event sets the basis for a long-term cooperation.
