Recently Mr and Mrs Hisada from Hisada Group in Tokyo did visit our dairy in Neochorouda. Our discussions and impressions had special interest, so I asked from Mrs Hisada to write us a letter of her impressions of their visit to Neochorouda. I must mention that Mrs Hisada did study the cheese-making in France and has been entitled Maître fromagère affineuse.
Michalis Arvanitis
Greece Cheese
They say that cheeses were originated in Greece.
I was hoping to visit
factory where the Feta is being produced someday.
In the year of 2008, the booth of Arvanitis S. A. was located in across from our Foodex booth. The
president HISADA tasted their cheese and liked the cheese very much ..$$$$ however, the name of that particular cheese remains unknown.
I and President Hisada had been wondering the name of the cheese for a long time.
That particular cheese were always in our thoughts.
Mr. Arvanitis kindly sent us emails onece in a while, however I was unable to ask the name of
the cheese to him.
(Actually it turn out to be Manouri P.D.O.)
We finally decided to visit Greece this year in February as the President HISADA
was staying in Paris for a long time.
The place we visited was Thessaloniki where we never heard of the name of the place before.
This was our very first trip to Greece.
The record shows that the people who eats cheese most in the world is the people in Greece. The family of ARVANITIS and their son Mihalis were very kind and tooks care of us very well.
Being in a very comfortable
foreign country, they showed us how to make Feta which I had always wanted to see.
And
they took us to restaurants, and let us expereienced in what way people in Greece eats cheese.
We could learn so much things.
Everything was new to us and interesting.
Goats in this counry is strong/robust and big.
I was very much impressed by having seen goats moving down the mountain, which I will never forget.
I was moved/touched very much (to have seen goats down the mountain)
We found that what Goats here eat is very much different from the ones Goats eat in France.
I believe what they eat differenceate the taste of the milk, which create originality of cheeses originality, I think.
At the Foodex Japan 2009, the President HISADA conducted seminar with earnetly and enthusiastically to introuce cheeses made in Greece in order to make cheeses from Greece well known to people all over Japan.
At the beginning it might be difficult to be widely accepted by Japanse people as Greece cheese is more salty than others
???
, but we thou

it is all right, just a littel by little, step by step, gradually, if Japanese people getting to love Greece cheese, it would be great,
???
that is why we had especially chosen for all the people in Japan, the Greek Cheese, Feta which has originality taste, and Manouri P.D.O. which has
a mild and heart warming taste.
