Homemade pizza with tomatoes and Kasseri PDO

Ingredients

  • 250 gr. all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. sweet salt
  • 1 tsp. sweet sugar
  • 1/2 sachet of dry yeast (about 4 g)
  • 150 ml warm water
  • 1 tsp. olive oil soup
  • 3 ripe tomatoes, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp. sweet oregano or basil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 300 gr. Kasseti PDO Arvaniti, grated
  • 50 gr. KYANO blue cheese (optional), cut into small pieces

Directions

Mix the flour, salt and sugar in a bowl.

Dissolve the yeast in the warm water and leave it for 5 minutes.

Add the yeast solution and olive oil to the flour.

Knead until you have a soft and elastic dough.

Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, until it doubles in volume.

In a pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the garlic for 1 minute.

Add the grated tomato, oregano, salt and pepper.

Cook the sauce over medium heat for 10 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 220°C.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface, give it the desired shape and place it on a baking sheet.

Brush the dough with a little olive oil and spread the tomato sauce.

Sprinkle with Kasseri PDO Arvanitis and scatter the pieces of KYANO blue cheese.

Bake the pizza in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and the cheeses are melted.
