Cheese-bread (Tyropsomo) with goat cheese and red pepper

Ingredients

  • 600g. flour for all uses
  • 1 sachet dry yeast
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 glass of lukewarm water (approximately)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 300g. Goat cheese of Chalkidiki ARVANITI
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Florina peppers chopped
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • freshly ground pepper

Directions

Sift the flour in a large bowl. Add sugar and olive oil and mix with a spoon.

Dissolve the yeast in a little warm water and add the flour. Dissolve the salt in a cup of warm water and add it with the flour. Knead for about 10 minutes.

Brush a pan with some oil and put it into the dough. Cover with a cling film and leave it to double in size.

Add the goat cheese ARVANITI, garlic, oregano, peppers and pepper. Knead and leave for 1 hour to rise more dough.

Preheat the oven to 180oC. Beat egg with milk and brush the cheese bread. Bake for about 40 minutes.

Put out of the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
