GOUTZAMANIS ANGELOS
TAGARADES, THESSALONIKI
Angelos Goutzamanis is engaged in livestock farming since 2010.
Although he does not come from a farmers generation, he managed with personal work and a lot of passion to create his unit in Tagarades, Thessaloniki.
In his tireless work 4 more people contribute on a daily basis, so that all the work which is required by the unit is done
The 450 sheep which are bred in Angelos unit are Chiotika and mix-race and they are checked and vaccinated by the Veterinary office of Vasilika for their good health .
The flock is driven for free grazing in the surrounding meadows – Semseli, Hasapli, Mana water and elsewhere – twice a day: from 8 to 11 in the morning and from 5 to 11 in the evening.
The green areas of Macedonia are covered with wildlife, peacock, fennel and grazies, which are the main local flora from which the animals feed.
The sheep are being milked every day at 5 oClock before leaving for grazing and again at 3 oClock, producing 60 tons of fresh sheeps milk every year. Milking lasts from October to August, while most milk is produced in April, covering 20% of the whole year.
We are proud of our farmers.
We are proud of the Angelos.
