CHATZIANTONIOU GIORGOS
EXAMILI LANGADAS, THESSALONIKI
Giorgos Hatzantoniou has been engaged in livestock farming for 33 years. He comes from a family of breeders, who kept the unit in Examili Langadas since 1970.
He has 150 goats of Alpine breed, Zanes and Skopelitika, which takes care of himself, and for their good health they are checked and vaccinated by the Veterinary Office of Lagadas.
Every day, the herd is driven to free grazing in surrounding fields and mountain (Sasakarou area and Byra) from 4 pm until 10 pm.
Their food includes mainly corn, oats, triticale, barley and, soybeans.
George flourishes the herd twice a day, feeding them first, at 9am and 11pm.
The plant produces 50 tonnes of fresh goats milk every year. Milking takes place throughout the year except from the winter months, December and January, which is the dry season.
